Punch Drunk Munky Funk named COjam's Featured Artist, November 2015
Whether or not you're a fan of cold weather, there's one sure-cure for the winter blues — dancing! We wanted to be sure you get a quality dose of danceable music this winter, so we have chosen the high-energy and ever-funky Punch Drunk Munky Funk as our Featured Artist for November, 2015.
Punch Drunk Munky Funk has been described as a mix between Medeski, Martin, Scofield and Wood and Steve Kimock's Crazy Engine, with a sampling of jam covers ranging from the Grateful Dead to the Talking Heads. With heavy influences of jazz and New Orleans funk infused into their hard-hitting and intricately composed original tunes, PDMF brings down the house night after night at venues across the front range and beyond.
PDMF has been touring for two years and has gained a cult following in their hometown of Fort Collins, CO, selling out Hodi's Half Note and throwing headlining shows at The Aggie Theatre. Saxophone player Sivan Hoch and trumpet player Jesse Matthews have recently been added to the regular line up adding depth to their funky composition.
